Something a bit different tonight... to be honest, I have been more interested in "hanging on" to Spain, and have added some pics to poems today... yes, even to Location, ho-ho! K xx :))
“I had noticed the cobwebs
and the shoaling of light…
Isn’t that a kind of prayer?
The care and maintenance
of the web of our noticing,
the paying heed?”
Kathleen Jamie, “Fever”
THE SPIDER'S PRAYER
She does not speak,
she listens –
attending busily
to the noisy strings
of her web:
invisible wires of crackling light,
humming creation’s static --
electrifying music that
only spiders hear.
Ceaselessly she maintains its song,
storing the words in windows --
the air between each note.
She has a tuner’s ear,
meticulous and attentive,
meditating visions
not seen, only heard.
I love spiders and take many of pictures of their creations in their webs, how did I miss this one....Wow, Kate- you captured what seems to be the essense of a spiders thoughts. Let me ask you, are you related in some uncany way? lol -A tuners ear huh, sounds like you play some guitar- a tuner comes in handy for clarity of sound-As you must know- I enjoyed this thought out poem-WArm HuGs2U-Peacefully,Sheee P.s. Thank you for your kind reviews lately-
Nice use of the senses in this poem. The fourth line was my favorite. --Joe

(First, I'd like to suggest we get a little caged area for the "splatter" in our midst... hehe.. nothing elaborate, just room for a water dish and maybe one chair for visitors). (smooooooooch for Andy.)
Now, then... like a loom, you are fed life's observations, dear Kate, and quietly give back a tapestry of woven thought, suitable for wrapping around my mind. You see what I see, but I see it in profusion when your words tell about it. The threads of life twine perfectly into bold color schemes and subtle ideologies that I happily savor and embrace. Seeing the world through your eyes opens mine fully. I love this poem. katy xox

This is one of your best, I think- it has the delicacy of wording appropriate to the subject matter, and from a unique veiwpoint- very inspiring- you have the senses caught in this one- it is way better than the first poem which seems a bit prententious, whereas yours seems realistic. Great stuff, Kate:)
You have now made me consider the beauty of a creature that I have always disliked to say the very least. Your verses seem to validate all of the creatures of the earth. Thanks, Kate, now I am feeling guilt for all the spiders and bugs I have smashed in my lifetime. If I had known that they were writing music while visiting my house, I may have been less inclined to pound their musical little bodies to a spidery pulp. Truthfully, this is a beautiful poem and shows your understanding of life and how everything has a purpose and a mission and none are greater or less than our own.
Take care,
Sherry
Enchanting ,beautifully portrayed, with your unique
sensitivity for all things Kate. I did a spider one about
their unique webs think I'll repost it;-)
You have woven a beautiful and insightful write into the mind of a spider and the all string orchestra he or she has created. Your imagination shines in this wonderful poem.

... You are a beast when roused, Turner... haven't you got a little white ball to go watch somewhere? Go play with your leather and work out those vital statistics... :)) xx
This is one of your best...how can you improve on perfection? The spider is not the scary stuff of nightmares in this beautifully woven (pun intended) write, it is a musician of the highest order!
I cannot pick out my favorite line...they're all spectacular! Thank you for the smile on my face today. It was needed and is greatly appreciated.

Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
David Hightower’s lyrically expansive meditation on the whims of fate and the unpredictability of the human condition fill the pages of THE HANGING MAN DREAMS with thrilling music and mesmerizing imagery. Hightower’s richly infused voice echoes the e
