"the one who knows its worth..." Hmmmm... make that two, as I am very aware of its worth... oh, and don't forget yourself.
Ok, this is not suitable for my brand of silly. Therefore, I will tell you that I am, among other things, completely collapsed, here, Kate, of the tender pen. If you were here, you would not see me smiling. What you would see is a moist face, caused by my eyes flooding. You, my lovely, can drop me with one line, one expression, one little emotion-packed phrase. The entire first verse was so simply said, so deeply painful. The 2nd verse had so many levels for me. I camped out and just let the fact that my own heart was gripped so it was fully a minute before I went on to read the end. THEN, I smiled, but briefly, because the awe I felt for your writing talent was wonder-filled. You are gifted.
The human condition has a "poet laureate"... that would be you. No wonder I sometimes ache to just sit and talk with you, beer in hand, ears glued. Sigh... katy xox
At some point we realize that it is not how they accept what we do but how we feel when we do it. To be appreciated is important but not nearly as important as it is to appreciate ourself and do those things that we feel are right for us, no matter how they are received by the masses. We live with our self every second of our lives, we need to become the person we want and need to be and cherish who we are and have become..Way to go with this one, Kate! A masterpiece and a keeper.
Take care,
Sherry
nothing like wearing your heart on your sleeve, kate. Hearts are made to be broken, said Mr Wilde - he should know! but guard yours carefully and keep writing from it. k
Your voice first shivers then shouts in this one Kate from abusive pain to glorious enlightenment, beautifully told! Wonderful message/poem that juices up all the emotions!
Oh Sweet Kate,
This is truly a poem to cherish and pass on to all the young folk out there who learn this most valuable lesson so painfully, but again maybe it is the lessons learned that make us cherish such treasures so. I know your husband must treasure and cherish your love as it shines forth in your poetry.
Hugs,
Felix
if we could all learn to so cherish our hearts and the very essence of who we are as I believe God does for each of us... still, it can be so difficult to overcome the bruises and shivers enough to risk doing just that. this one really moved me, Kate. thanks.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
