Feeling pretty Lazy Daisy this evening after a pretty random day... this is a repost from last year, brought to mind by my own (rambling!) words on me podcast today... K xx

LA PASSION DE LA POESIE

It's not your look,
and not your form;

not your voice -
nor even, sometimes,
your message.

It's just your breath -
the rise and fall of your chest;

the life that simply flows -
in and out;
to and fro;
back and forth;
up and down...

And I would cross
a million miles
to lie unseen
outside your door
and listen to you

breathing.

Kate, often times it seems one tends to intertwine ones perception of time and space in order to fulfill the requirements of receiving the glorious gift of “silent passion.” I enjoyed this poetic feast and the subtle gentleness in which one is willing to lie dormant, if for even the slightest glimpse of utopia. Outstanding composition. Thank you for sharing it. Take good care and be well.

The word "love" not used a single time and yet it blossoms as wildly and beautifully as a field of untamed roses in every line:-) Superb.

Le Passion! The being together. That's right; as Paul Durcan wrote:
You can have sex with anyone, but wih whom can you sleep?
It's this lying together that I cherish.

Good for you, Kate! a memorable rise and fall contour poem.

To hear and feel the breath of the beloved! At times it can seem a dream. Seemingly such a simple thing. But life is in the breath. A beauty, Kate...Lin

Felix and Karla, you are both such Honies... but this is a journey in time, space and into the je ne sais quoi of poetry per se as much as anything: what IS it that just "does it", somehow? What IS that spark of life? Anyway, reckon I'd be fair worn to a crisp by the time I had wended me way to old Will Shakespeare's door, don't you?! :)) Bless you and thank you; you both do me a great honour. xx
