Totally whacky but absolutely TRUE! :))

FINDING SHANGRI-LA

“I run through the grass, I run over the stones,
show me the way back… to the sea”

Stevie Nicks, “Trouble In Shangri-la”

I’ve traversed high mountains
and travelled the deep pass
to discover a Lost Horizon.

In the waking grey moment
of my consciousness today,
my mind’s eye saw:
two feathery foetal hands floating in fluid
and seeking mutual fingertip touch;
the light of a nascent sunflower’s face;
a multi-armed star, globed like an artichoke,
coming towards me on fingertip toes;
a Bengali tiger with diamond-crusted collar
leading me through a palace maze;
an upturned Ark pouring rain through the mist
of a watery rainbow below.

What’s to understand? I have been carried.
Light comes and it goes, but is always there -
is always the end of a tunnel.

I found I had full movement
in my bent and damaged arm,
and relief from constant nagging pain;
to stretch my iridescent, fresh-formed wings
I played Stevie Nicks and danced!

Kate,

Good on ya, mate! Never let the pain get you down. Celebrate life, because YOU, my dear, are a survivor in the truest sense of the word!

This one made me smile--love it, love your attitude, and you most of all. :) Great!

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.

Don't think this is whacky Kate lol
But I did have to laugh cause I know I've
posted some pretty whacko stuff. It's very
romantic and ah, to dance. I used to dance some
anymore my joints don't work quite as well ;)

wonderful write, kate; if i could dance, i'd join you! (but it's awfully hard to do on a crutch! LOL and besides, my ol' knees wouldn't let me; they'd abandon ship, and i'd go falling onto my face! LOL)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in america, karen lynn in texas. :D

Your poetry definitely gives one a natural high. Simply beauty in a world of pain.

Such an uplifting write of hope and inspiration that we all need to hear from you. YOu are my hero and I am glad to see you are finally starting to feel better as I am. I think we draw strength where needed and a lot of mine came from your bravery, thank you Sweet Kate.

This is fabulous, Kate. I can just "see" you dancing. It's not "whacky." Maybe you feel that it is because you shared it. We all see strange images upon waking and we all dance while alone.
