Mother's writing her memoirs! THAT will be some book, if I can handle it - Thomas Hardy eat your heart out!! :)) Anyways, has given rise to a few thoughts of my own...!! LOL K xx

LOVE’S SUMMER LANDSCAPE

Under clouds of corn
we were heady on rye,
passion the scythe
by which we fell
and were harvested.

Like heavy sweat of summer rain
your herring-bone hands
imprinted my back,
your face bearded barley
embedding my neck
til, white-hot as wheat,
all flimsy husks shed
that rubbed between our fingers.

Nesting as mice
we swayed
on blades of love,

rolled home in the hay cart
as the heavy horse nodding
pulled down the sun

cross burgeoning acres of sky.

Such is the nature of Vim and Ajax that it makes one feel nostalgically butch lol! Like one of Hardy's men. This is a landscape he would have been proud of, yup! he'd have been really chuffed and possibly a bit jealous too...super-dooper imagery Kate.

This surely needs to find its way on the canvas! Such a picture here that you painted, Kate! It needs an easel to support it, a fine sable hair brush, and an acre of canvas! Lovely, Lady Kate!

so, even prim and proper Brits take a roll in the hay? truly wonderful use of language, Kate. I'm amazed at the strength and refinement of your poetry with your retention of the more whimsical, lighter sides of your personality. hope to be back more often soon and to catch up on poems I've missed. till then, Dawn

Sweet Kate i can picture every piece of hay sticking in your hair as you ride in the hay cart of love beneath the beauty of the moon and stars. It amazes me how you can mix the bounties of nature with the bounties of human emotions and the blend comes out so perfect everytime. This special blend of yours always leaves me feeling a sense of calm warmth (like nestling in a hay wagon with a warm lover and sinful thoughts)that is so heavenly to contemplate. Hey, now I'm feeling kinda frisky wish there was a barn and hayloft close by. lol

Your pen is an artist’s brush, your words the colorful palette. I love the way that this builds and draws the reader into the canvas to become one with the painting. Wonderful images, exceptional poetry!
Take care,
Sherry

Question: But have you ever visted a Georgia Farm Boy?
What a poem he would inspire..... mmmmmmmmm.....

Has a Ye Old English feel about it Kate
Could imagine and visualize the scene, with the cart drover with a straw hat, and sliver of hay in his mouth, and a sinking crimson sun behind a sea of golden grain !
Good luck on choreographing your Mum's memoirs, sounds like fun in the making !
