Today, the first day of Spring,
with chill-factor winds
and blinding sun,
whipping sands and seas
to seismic frenzy:
turbulence to capture;
life and energy
to quicken the dead.
So here I am,
out with the camera
and down on the beach,
click, clicking the moment
to send back home
and all the time hearing
that recurring sound:
a breeze rounding tree trunks,
the purr of a motorbike
awoken from sleep…
The rush of the tides,
the swell of pinned seabirds
crucified mid-air.
And then, again,
the sound that I recognise,
that is not here
as I was not there
a year ago to hear it:
your final sigh,
your “it is finished”,
now so far away.
A relationship poem that I feel a'kin to Kate...that morning in Sring, that relationship with the elements of nature. I feel that independence and joy in the cool air and the snap of the camera afraid to miss a trick. The real trick is in the end when the reader searches for the real meaning of relationships and endings... bitter? think not. Sighs and wishes keep me guessing and wanting to read again and see myself in here...look once more for the answers.
Love,
Taylor
Kate this is a moving poem not only on heart level but physical senses. I can't leave beautiful reviews like you do, that's not where my talent lies but I can tell you this..I have never read a bad poem from you and I am your fan.
"Wish You Were Here" the Golden words spoken and felt by Pink Floyd!
and this poem is filled with much imagery, I feel myself being drawn there Sweet Katie~
You penned it exquisitely and sadly!
Your mix with words and crucified imaginings is beautiful and longingly felt!
Hope your well Kate!
STay Strong!
Enjoy! Your Spring and Summer!

Incredibly "deeply" written and 'felt.' In here, I sense the musk of memories of better days; the longing to return to something once so strongly felt; a passion that so deeply burned...
There's that, and SO much more - the Crucifixion of Christ; the crucifixion of a relationship; the spirituality intertwined amid the overwhelming beauty of nature.
And the "Wish you were here" STRONGLY cries out of the longing and, more importantly, the 'need' that sits within the pit of the soul of you, Kate; you wonderful writer! -- Jeff

Teardrops and brine...the sadness of this write painted into a scene that cries for heartache and longing is soulful indeed. You laid down the perfect combination of sights, sounds and smells to deliver the final note of deep regret in the last line of longing. Kate this is one of your best, at least in my books.
Has it already been a year, Kate, since your mum rose up? Somehow, it just doesn't seem that long ago to me. This is a beautiful poem, Kate and your palate of mixed emotions tints every edge of your verses. "Namaste".
Take care,
Sherry
A mixing of emotions tells me that at the sea is a great place to let one's hair down. Who the hell can keep "nice" hair near the sea? I like much the reading of this.

Well done. Anniversary is filled with welcoming the arrival of spring, the compassion of yearning for a loved one, taking pleasant time by yourself, and enjoying life near water.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
