... I have been itching to try Joseph's nu-ku short forms... This leapt out of the collective consciousness this morning! I warmly dedicate this effort to both Joseph and Alexandra and their beautiful gift of OneLight xxOOxx LOL K xx

Joseph’s Ameriku-Xuxaku-Ameriku

Words in italics are attributed to Welsh poet,
Alun Lewis (1915-1944), referring to his wife

KEEPER OF THE FLAME

More than the
“singing rib in my
dreaming side”,
she is the song.

Source of my unspoken thoughts,
cool breath that gives them life,
hot fire in my bones.

I am air
within her music,
lamp of her
words and vision.

It is no wonder you're one of the most (if not the most) popular poets on this den. Your versatility is demonstrated in this write. What a superb pen this is. I'm envious. lol

I just realised that I've missed quite a bit of your work again. I'm tracking you and should receive notifications in my email inbox whenever you post but this doesn't appear to be happening. Gotta check my spam folder in case something has gone awry. Failing this. AD management will get an email from me. I don't have enough time to check all the latest postings but I hate to miss yours.

Take care sunshine!!!

First: {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{xi-coração}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} which means, in Portuguese, that my heart is kissing yours. And it is, indeed, with a warm feeling of gratitude spreading within and all over it. Dearest Kate... since yesterday I've been trying to tell you all about what this exquisite, singing "chain" (one that frees more than a whole "flock" of wings would) has done to me in creativity... and what its conveyed concept has been doing to me in life. Yet, only now that my computer, all fresh from a good night's sleep, seems to be at last cooperating, am I able to tell you, sweet one, that the "ripples" from these astonishingly beautiful, crystalline droplets of consciousness, have produced more ripples; that such "ripples" have touched yet other "ripples" and merged with them, expanding further and further. And that, in each one of these precious "ku's", and in the composition they "sing" to the hearts of your readers, you are actually sharing one of the Secrets of the Universe, one that, with Joseph, I have learned and has become the source of this "OneLight" philosophy we share... like our own breaths - that Oneness is intrinsic to Love, and Love is intrinsic to Oneness... and simultaneously, that this "mergence", so complete it becomes a single "nature", in which all is in tune, is only possible, or attainable, when each one of the elements of its wholeness "sees" - perceives, lstens, imbibes - the other in the full wonder of his, of her individuality; when each one... "recites" these three ku's to the other, from their individual wonder towards the other, and... within, both the three ku's and the two of them, he and she... feel like One. Once understood, this Secret of Wholeness is shared with the world... like ever expanding "ripples"... or a Flame that, naturally, never goes out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you - and many, many more {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{xi-corações}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Dearest Kate,

It must have felt good to scratch that itch as you brilliantly mastered both forms and created a perfect marriage of the two in this splendid piece. I have to say that I am quite impressed and honoured by your work. Many thanks for trying my new short-verse and for the sweet dedication! I hope you enjoyed writing as much as I enjoyed reading and that this will compell you to do more.

Love & Light always and in all ways,
Joseph*

The third stanza brought to mind these words from a song particularly in relation to 'I am air':'Who has seen the wind, neither you nor I, but when the trees bow down their head, the wind goes passing by' My instincts detect an intimate connection between two loving souls intended by this lyric but my mind can't articulate what that is. Obviously the key is in the words of your stanza otherwise the trigger would have lain elsewhere. Hmm, maybe the drift suffices. Also, and perhaps slipping slightly from the intensity of the love endemic of this concluding stanza, these words 'Close enough, the air's something we all share, no matter how close we are there's always air between us.' I've loved this line ever since I heard it way back when..! As Oscar Wilde once said, 'I wish I had said that.' To which a peer replied, 'You will Oscar, you will.' :):)
Both lyrics are the sadly underated Yoko Ono's and in keeping with your delicate theme of '...air within her music,' Yoko was listed as supplying 'wind' on the Live Peace in Toronto album. All a bit 1969 Greenwich Village discourse but nonetheless ethereal in substance, blanketing her influence around her husband, John that only he understood and found comfort. Opinions differ of course.
Wow, how on earth did I end up in this approximately infinite train of thought? Must be the Jordan's oats.

Stimulating pulse beat, Kate.

Dai
