SUGGESTIVE SEA

They keep on coming,
the sea’s suggestions –

wave upon wave
of thoughts murmured left,
whispers right;

rumours folding in on themselves,
contradictions overlapping,
denials overtaking.

Reviews pour in
and just as quickly fade,

leaving only ruffled silence
drifting off into the middle distance.

“What do you mean by that?”
I say.

“Nothing… Oh, nothing…
Just forget I said a word, now.
Shhhhhhhh…”

The alliteration in the title is already a wave that takes you further, deeper, into a concentration of meaning. Sounds, words, waves, silence.
A poem I could easily feel.

Best regards,

Axilea

SUGGESTIVE SEA--
What a special poem this is,
an interior dialogue externalized
by the voice of the sea.
I read it and think:
nature in communion with self;
nature as self;
nature as poetry
gathering into its arms
waves of twilit consciousness.
Then I read it again
to see what else I can find:-)

Much gratitude,
Aberjhani

The sea is a marvelous vehicle for poetry, but you take it to fantastic new shores, Kate.

An undulating "take" on the biggest roller coaster of all.
Don't really know why... but I love the way it reads.
Marvelous thoughts and bingo words follow in line.

I've sat for hours watching waves roll in at the shore.
When I left they continued.
When I returned, they were still at it.
So will it be with your followers Kate.

You use the sea as a metaphor very well. But then you're a great poet. However I want you to remember that because I mean it. Victor

A true poet leaves a complimentary trace of another's poet's work - we call them intelligent reviews - comparison; not like that of footprints in the sand that fade away, but like that of a beautiful conch shell, tangible, with traces of iridescent bookmark sand lingering in appreciation for that poet's work - we put that conch shell to our ear and "listen" to that poet's work for eternity. Suggestive Sea, taken with a cup of tea, rumours, contradictions, and denial all three discarded with the tea ball and thrown out to sea to come back as a transformation as a message in a bottle - not a distress signal, but a congratulatory message to all poets, all poets who have exited AD welcoming them home - signed KB - sea philosopher and poet extraordinare...and you are, you know, love...

Love Eternally,
Sage

Ahhh sweet Kate you keep rolling me down to the sea and ships, with each stunning poem your voice sings on the pages of the den. This is no exception the sea is life and life imitates the sea coming and going throwing stuff up with the tide and reclaiming it somewhere else. Very well written piece dear sweet Kate...indeed.
