the fluency of words as they mingle into our ideas is indeed a tumultuous experience, suspended by our desire to move within the flow ... such a choice is indeed influenced by our own stream of thought deciding to either exit or reenter its own pool of movement ...
Very visceral today, Kate! The the thoughts tumble with the rush of the water and the narrator steers her course through the iridescent scene. YOU TOOK ME ON A VOYAGE!
There are so many quotable lines in this beautiful philosophical poem. The flow is smooth, and the tension is wonderfully transitioned with a mix of long and short lines.
"My life of words runs through it" is GOLD!
Kate, there are never words for me to tell you how beautiful your writing is. You have a sense and a style like no other. Your word choices, the flow...always a wonder to read.
The best thing about reading you,is that we learn how a master poet always finds new words, and ways of using them, to delight and inspire all the senses ! Splendid Kate!...ET Ditto Charlie, the book!
I think originally you'd rhymed that last word with "flow", didn't you? But I love "unsaid". It "says" much. I imagine you teetering carefully on inuendos, connotations and oxymorons, carefully choosing-- rythm comes second-- euphony first-- and meaning flows... but it's that intuative mind of yours that's the current behind it all-- you struggling to take your footholds on the proper words to frame the bones of genius. With you, it's a deeper river than it is wide, and all the more better, because each of your safe crossings (at least in my mind) are monumental. YOU SHOULD BE IN BOOK STORES ALL OVER!! --Charlie
Ahhh sweet Kate, my dear English lady, am i detecting something here that others aren't or is it just my own fevered imagiantion working overtime after checking out your lovely picture again. I read this twice and I found an underling sensuality to it as in the line "fluent place of salt and sweet" or the light veined muscle that purple streams incessant". I could be wrong though but the beauty is your ability to make us think about each line you deliver. Great write sweet Kate.

Again, your poetry leaves me breathless! "Pink-rippled caul of heaven." If words could bail out this economy, yours would be the billions! You have a monumental gift!

Isn't life like that, not quite as polished as those stones where silence lies, but rushes forth with words that are not heard and are left by the wayside of cascading facets of thought in a belfry without a bell but none the less are heard along with silent prayers that are offered.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
by all that hints unsaid. "
Loved this, Kate, and I miss you, been gone
