LOVE’S CONSECRATION

“Faith is a cheek I rest on yours”

Sophie Cabot Black from The Arguments
in The Misunderstanding of Nature


An airy cathedral
of windswept bones,
all baser elements gone.

“Faith is a cheek I rest on yours”,
our hope with passion fused.

Blessed is incense rising
from one altar of two
lip-locked mouths:

conjoined sounds
singing rapture as
bliss transcends
a toiled-for peace.

Intense the use of the temple or church as a sanctuary for love in both reallife and metaphorically is interesing to say the least. Once again Kate you keep my imagination on edge delving into the thoughts you present.
