... possibly my last post for over a MONTH! Am off globetrottin your must-see Grand Canyon, followed by Venezuela... Just think, it will be SPRING when I return... Stay well, People... I'll miss you!!!!! Hasta la vista, Kate :)) xx

WAKEING

Slumber’s flotsam disappears
like remnants of a tall ship
merging into fog. It will never
return; this night has passed.

Awakening soul uncurls, teased
slowly from its husk of sleep,
dawn-pinkness shining through.

As pain-frosted layers peel away,
kiss and let them go, penitent
they have suffered, their sorrowing
song ignored too long.

Hypnosis, psychosis sloughs
its skin: bright memory is what
brought you back, stitched you
to earth with glistening thread,
its needle pointing home.

Spawning thoughts ripple and
cascade, tremble the inner being,
tingling on lips, pooled in bowls
of yawning hips.

Now you are alive and
High Priest of your future,
this day ordained.

Brilliant as always Kate. I know I'm like the Scarlet Pimpernel and disappear for long periods but I love coming back to AD and particularly reading your work. You're always such an inspiration. Enjoy your travels sweet one.

Or as my mother would say, "It is time to get up, SO MOVE YOUR BUTT." LOL. That was just before everything went dark and I was thrown into perpetual night. But this poem is light and humorous, though I don't know why because another day of drudgery has begun. Get up, throw your robe on, make the breakfast, send the kids off to school and the biggest kid to work. Then your work starts, make the beds, pick up errant clothes here and there, and put them in the hamper, clean and vacuum the floors, wash the clothes, do the breakfast dishes, and then when it is all done, maybe it would be a good idea to get dressed. Maybe. Then after you are dressed, the kids come home, and the biggest kid from work asking what's for dinner, and then you realize you haven't even had lunch. Yep, a new day is here all right. LOL. I rate this a 10 out of 10, and thank you for sharing.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Kate - Most of us greet the day with just a yawn. Profound awakening from "the little death."
Especially liked:
...bright memory is what
brought you back, stitched you
to earth with glistening thread,
its needle pointing home.

Enjoy your trip. - David

A softly sensuous poem. The third stanza however is my favorite... I know that I am guilty at times of holding onto past pain and not letting it go as I should...and times when I think I have let go, only to rediscover its dull ache in later quiet moments.
May you have no such moments as you let go of your home for a brief time and travel with a sun-filled heart around the world.
