:)) xx A sudden flash of whimsy!

BEEKEEPER COURTSHIP

Not so much flighty
flirtation on Facebook
or Tweet on Twitter,
as persistent,
beckoning Hum;

not so much laughter
over latte as cappuccino-
scent of a smile whiffed
through frothing lattice veil;

not so much out-on-the-town
as my-hive-or-yours?

Not so much booty-shakin
peacock as wing-flapping dove –

white: vestment
of surrender, of loyalty.

Bees play away
in striped shirts
while Keeper’s at home
making love.

The birds and the bees, the wine and the cheese, you are good at capturing the buzz of interpersonal relationships, Kate.

Read Norman Mailer's 'Castle in the Forest' novel and learn how Herr Hitler's father took up bee-keeping and almost had a mental and physical collapse over the demands of family and hive life. Young Adolf being the bumble bee from hell, the fly in the ointment.

Thanks for review of da bulb!

It's a very early poem that somehow got left out of my AD collection - hiding in a box under the kitchen cupboard like a mysterious mushroom. :-)

But it ties in well with your latest scilly adventures. Inspired by the British love of gardening, of course. A Titchmarshian, Percy Thrower poem, you might say.

Hope we both have a brilliant blazing colourful year!

Your sudden flashes, Kate, leave the brightest of afterglows! I adore this very spring-feeling, honey-tipped dance. Your form is especially unique as it all beautifully leads to that final stanza. This is a sigh, a glimmer, a twinkle, a connection of the most delicate of worlds.

I do nee not mean to Drone on. So it's to bee or not to bee that is the question of who beehives themselves.

Ah give me the bees humming in the lattice and the comforts of home. Whimsy? I think not. I flirt with ideas and travel in my mind these days and shake my booty while washing dishes. My social life has shrunk but so have the obligations. Sweet write, Katie. Blessings this New Year...Lin
