... thanks for sticking with me through thick and (very!) thin during this month-long... very long... challenge xx Having excised my dumpster-demon (which I admit has been dogging me for a while!), I'm feeling back (sort of!) into some sort of stride... and nearly two-thirds of the way through... YEY! :)) xx

After long hours of solitude
in the saddle of a mind
exploring deep canyons,
dark space

fine company trots in close
as a campfire’s naked flame
dancing across an old love’s face

I'm thinking that your old love is really your poetry style... I've enjoyed following the path you are creating with your long ride though.

I think I'm still two furlongs behind you, and my poor mare's going lame. I might walk this next round.

It took me to the Grand Canyon, early 1800, when a campfire would have had "...naked flames dancing across love’s face..." as the pioneer kept threading forward...

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
