Stone and paper both consist
of what was once alive:

earth, bones, bark.

I cannot answer for
the human heart

but still I take my
tools of choice:

chisel, pen, harp –

hoping, on its
snowfield white,

for signs of pinking
breath or blush.

It's a game of rock-paper-scissors with music inter-twined. It's all alive--comes alive when held in your hands. --Charlie

You can take the bark off of a tree
You can unearth a bone
You can listen to a human heart
You can use a chisel to split a stone
The paper's only white if it's been bleached
The pink depends on rue
I'm glad the pen's your tool of choice
Sorry to harp on you

Patrick

Transformation is a good title for this #27! You've built it from the ground up in all of its chasteness, Kate...to mature into those sensuous moments it can handle later on...soft white tungsten leaving no harsh glare on your readers...a nice aura of Light...

Love,
Sage
