I loved bonfire night when I was young; letting off fireworks and going around with the Guy - Penny for the guy, Mister!
But the bonfire was the 'highlight' of the evening. Prior to the blaze, we ripped up fences, anything to find 'wid'. Wood! Just shows we're still pagans at heart.
I'd be careful of the trick! Trust me on that one!
There's already been a lot of banging, yet Guy Fawkes night is still a week away. Sometimes I kinda feel sad that he failed.
You bring your natural tenderness and colour to this most visual poem. With its subtle double entendre. xxx
A BONFIRE...HEAT...WITHIN AND WITHOUT...MAGIC - CONJURES UP AN INNOCENT DOVE, RELEASED AMID THE 'WARM' SILKEN COLORS OF 'TRICKS' UP ONE'S SLEEVE...'EVERYTHING' SEEMS REAL... AND WHETHER IT IS OR NOT, WHO CARES...ON 'H O L L O W S N I G H T'???!!! WELL DONE, KATE...THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

Kate, I see a symphony of words with your pen the conductor's baton -- flashing with deft beauty to the magic ensemble of season and gifted imagination -- a pure delight for these eyes hungry for innovative expression -- I bid you joy, love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael
Kate,
i can read so many things between these lines,
each one relevant - the suggestions are subtle,
magnetic and underpinned by autumnal colour and tone.
I like the bi/sexual quality of this poetry! It comes in an orgasmic, lyrical quality erupting in peace with subtle undertones of fellatio and cunnilingus...phoenix rising from the embers and even the forest knows its name, Kate. Sacred ash indeed, as in ritual. Be well.
