CREPUSCULAR

Dusk is a tingle
as in mingle
of tongues
on rungs
soft-sung
by lungs
scaling heights
beyond sight
into dark
where spark
of hearts
candle-bright
in the night
stiffens wicks,
wax sticks,
flesh stutters,
flame gutters,
breath sighs,
pulse-to-pulse love lies,
damp flesh entwined
in tangle of minds
that tremble dark,
shake feathers of lark –
pale daybreak comes stark.

Way different for you and from you, Kate I, personally am not a fan of rapping as it is just a soft sung brief burst of rhyme within two word lines, but yours I found engaging simply because it tells a story and it spells romance within those short lines. Well done.
P.S. I like you way better than Kate Tempest

great bursts of rhyme and circumstance, a wonderful dance of "pulse-to-pulse" sensuality ..

Great comments, People, thank you! And very perceptive of Frank as I had in mind the rapping style of our new kid on the Brit performance poetry block, Kate Tempest, when I was writing this...

Check out her "Brand New Ancients" - I think you'll like and appreciate :) xx

Not so as to be succinct, more at concise, yes, and staccato-short bursts of bite me, invite me, excite me imagery ignites to suffuse with its jingling-jangling, wiggle-niggle, snag me, bag me, tag me, shag me, flex me, hex me, sex me, photo-finish-in-perfect-time-lapse-form me for another go-round-and-round on that merry, tarry, marry-me-in-white, cause I'm on like a light "beyond sight into dark where spark" is just another arc in a story that never gets old, regardless of how it is told, like this bold, undersold, warm-me-for-I'm-cold-as-hot-is-smoldering, sultry and sizzle trembles dark where the nightingale's sweet song is an unheard melody so much sweeter because we know it's there "beyond sight" and sound lingering longer and longer until the shake stake in the heart of our hubris and the haunting haloed hush that pushes horny into honey-I-shrunk-but-don't-tell-the-kids and the "feathers of lark" caught in our flue revives us and once again we blissfully die.

OOOO, very sussexy.
And the flow just goes in perfect timing with rhyme, meter and and the flow on the go. Light my wick anywhen you like, it's a candle not many can handle when it's so flaming hot.

Kewl humour ole lassie. xx

Kate this is an intriguing symphony. There is titillation as the passion incites response from every sensory input on high alert. Too long have your pen and creativity been absent. This is a marvelous holiday treat for your admirers. May love peace and joy be always with you my dear friend. Jon Michael

A tour de force of a love poem. You totally blew me away with its beautiful, direct simplicity. Contrary to the others, I first thought of a choir of voices singing in the dark a Christmas Carol reaching great heights in the night.

But then, that's probably what a great orgasm sounds like to a woman in love…

Oh boy, Kate, did you ever kickass with this one. Taking nighttime loving to its ultimate conclusion, the utter reality of breaking daylight. I'm favorably impressed with the line "stiffens wicks."
