When to work I no more go
(Maybe in a year or so)
I will wake up late in bed
Loll with pillow under my head
When I will get up at last
Stroll along for my breakfast
And newspaper then peruse
Blinking at the day-old news
Tell the wife the coffee's cold
Just kidding! I am not that bold!
If the morning sun is out
Will lounge on deck no doubt
Or read a book or watch TV
No rush for anything, you see
At lunch. served on delicate platters Discuss politics or family matters
A yawn precedes the time to snooze
On couch or hammock- hard to choose
After the restful nap- you see
Already time for afternoon tea
Reminded of the chores undone-
'Tomorrow is good- today's for fun'
This carefully thought out scheme
Seems remote- but I can dream!
