I loved this, brought back such memories, and you have inspired me to write a candy poem of my own. I love to read books on Candy, too, and there are 2 out that are excellent-one is new, have only read about it, the other is so great because it takes you with this man who toured candy factories all over the world. Also very odd, I bought a scarf today because it reminded me of the old stripes on candy and lollipops! I like candy in small doses, a piece now and then- I end up saving it forever!! Thanks for invoking such memories:)

You should submit this poem to Good Ol' Days magazine. I think they would love it. I got the same feeling as a kid looking at comic books on the news stand. So many colors hitting you at once. It was very hard to make a decision. But I remember every one I made.

You delightfully brought back some of my delightful childhood memories, in my old neighborhood Mom & Pop candy store. And what a marvelous store it was. Sure wish I could find one of these today.

Thank you for this most delightful trip down memory lane.....brought me straight back to the one near my house...mmmmm the smells and possibilities safely behind the large glass counters....and just how far a nickel could go back then!!
