Photograph of mother moose and baby taken December 9th, 2001 by, James Jodray. Welcome to my world! The pears on the post are for the moose....
This mother moose uses her smarts
To feed herself and her son
Each morning and each evening
In my yard is where they dine
They share the horses hay
Since snow covers the ground
They've stripped the willows clean
No food there to be found.
So every evening and every dawn
They leave the woods behind
And make the journey through my yard
To the barn that sets outside
They eat the hay left on the ground
The horse has left behind
Lately they've found carrots there
Some lady left for them to find
The willows by the greenhouse are stripped
No nourishment left for them to find
So they share the hay and carrots too
Till spring comes and the sun does shine
Then back within the woodlands
They'll travel once again
But for the moment I get to view them
Wildlife from this Alaska land
This mother moose uses her smarts
To feed herself and her son
Each morning and each evening
In my yard they spend their time
How lucky I am to have found you! Thanks for visiting me. I like this poem. You have many so it'll take me some time to read more. What a neat title! Ciao.
My book of poetry is being redone by me, I have a beautiful cover designed and the book will have a few more than 200 poems in it. I am going to have it printed on demand here in Canada. When it is done I will let you know when it is done and if anyo
