The larch tree whispers an unfolding song
connections from an ancient time
sultry winds rustle the Illinois leaves
and stirs my heart to deeper things in Chicago
robin redbreasts dart inquistively across the lawn
and the spirit of Cherokee indian resonates through the halls of time
kindred souls together linked by bond of friendship
as we shared precious moments divinely assigned
garden created with geometric design
consummate outlines with professional pride
A mother's love enshrined for all to see
symbolised in tokens of splendid
degree
loving kindness opens every door
Mother Mary with a heart of gold
morning breaks to the sound of exquisite bird song
dawn chorus of symphony sound
salmon pink sun slants across the pond
misty ambiance envelopes us all around
and my love is forever yours

I visited a very close friend of mine just on the outside of Chicago. You have a beautiful state, that I am not surprised would bring about such a beautiful poem. I do hope to return again to feel the history of your land again.
