Poem Artwork

Oh love is teasing, and love is pleasing

When first it is new, it is a precious jewel

But as it grows older, then love grows colder

And fades away lke the morning dew

I wish I wish, that I could turn the clock back

And see your sweet face once again

But time moves on relentlessly

And apples don't grow on orange trees

I love my father and I love my mother

I love my sister and love my brother

I love my friends and relations too

I forsake them all to be with you

So beware of a false true lover

And never mind what they say

They're like the stars on a foggy morning

You think they're near but they're far away

"But as it grows older, then love grows colder." This resonates with my poem Spying Her Flamingo posted in my den.

The dirt road in this picture looks like it is leading to the crossroads of life. Could your true love be just around the bend where the road forks? A caveat: The pasture grass is not greener on the other side of the spring heifer. Don't put your old cow up for sale.

False love is not love at all, nor the person professing it. Wise caution for all lovers.
