" I Must Needs Do My Father's Work "

Lord, protect me from the Crossfire

Between warring factions

Teach me to keep

My head below the parapet

And to look out for the ricochets

When the bullets start flying

Though Egos are bruised

With Patience and Tolerance exhausted

I will not react with Anger and Temper

Help me to curb my tongue

When Silence is the better option

Show me how to control all situations

By remaining calm at my center

And divorced from recriminations

Let me be the first to say sorry always

When unavoidable hostilities occur

Realising Darkness chooses the subtle time

To attack when our defenses are down

Enamour me with Grace

To Prevail and Overcome

All Evil and Discontent

Spread the Mortar of Unconditional Love

With the Trowel of Humility

And lay the Cement of Concord

Freely and Evenly to everyone

But most of all Dear God

Teach me to love You

With all my Heart and Soul
