Poem Artwork

Odin asked me to write and post, so here is a painting I call "Even breathing seems too Loud" and the writing this morning to go with it.

Hiding

And in all their escalated intelligence

Built ground up a hundred thousand years

So keenly aware of fragilities,

No claws, no fangs, no fur —

As in all their invented stories and such

inside dank walls of towering fears

the humans hid with their insecurities

so deeply afraid of ‘the other.’

This wonderful poem reminds me of one of Sylvia Plath’s
“TULIPS,” Where she experiences a bunch of the flowers as ‘too red,’…
they hurt her, they upset her…(she is experiencing mental illness…)

‘Even breathing seems too loud..’
Fear…anxiety, vast insecurities…. a scary part of the human condition which
can totally overwhelm and consume…and ‘the other’ which could provide
Salvation, becomes the most terrifying
aspect of all…
Your evocative painting highlights your words perfectly Diana…

Diana…( the other)

Striking. The only "other" that I think is really dangerous is another human being. But then for those with mental illness, it may just be another version of themselves that they fear. Just hiding inside their brain where they know there really is no escaping.

The painting hypnotizing, the title (Even Breathing Seems Too Loud) breath-taking, the poem to accompany inspirational. Thoughts I wish I had, words I wish I had written.

Like a great sear, your prognostication is profound. It's almost like standing before the obelisk in 2001 Space Odyssey and contemplating evolution as energy exudes from this oracle of the future. So few words, so vast the truth. Bravo.
