I don’t want to go
Heavy suitcase and long lines await
Rude people pushing
Knocking me aside
As if I was a piece of trash
I don’t want to go
Neon boards flashing
Destinations I will never see
Sardines, no longer people
Squashed en mass between
Curved metal walls
Preparing to defy the
Forces of nature
I don’t want to go
Leaving pastures of green
For colonies of concrete
Strangers thrown upon me
Looking for guidance and direction
Long meetings and short patience
False social graces
I don’t want to go
But travel I must
A destination to nowhere
Until I can return
To the place for which I yearn
And the people I love
