A flickering candle barely seen.
Wish I had the chance to
touch your face, stroke
your hair, see
your eyes, your smile.
Wish I had a memory of having
heard your cries, a laugh, a sigh
held you before I said goodbye.
You had to leave, had to go before
you'd arrived. It's
forbidden, couldn't be. But
you were loved.
And we'll never know
what you might have been.
