A frission of fear slices through
me as I notice you across the room,
mysterious being weaving an
enticing web for your captive audience.
They don't see you as I do,
that web of deception, silvered
and fragile like silk, pulling
them in, inviting them unknowing
to stay and allow those silvered
lies to weave around them.
I watch you toil endlessly
and I long to scream, to rend
that skillfully crafted web of
lies, web of fantasies, web of
unattainable light and dreams
I desperately desire to
squash your efforts but I
am not that weak, nor that afraid.
I turn away and can't help thinking...
