I can't seem to sleep tonight, though I'm exhausted. This just kind of came out. I don't think that it makes very much sense, but I like it all the same. Hope you enjoy it as well. :)
I sit here in darkened silence Alone in a chilled room Where things whisper in the shadows And slither in the corners I cannot see them But they are there They wait for me to sleep So that they may invade my dreams Reminding me of times long gone When a true monster resided here And warmed my bed And spoke vicious words And touched me with rough fingers And bruised me with careless hands All in the darkness I cannot sleep I don't want to remember But they are there Memories hiding in the shadows Only scattered by the light I can't seem to find
A pretty young lady you are,
Even living in Ohio cannot change that,
You write your feelings better than most by far,
You seem in your writes to be talking to us, yes like a chat...
Danielle, not all men are like the one you speak of, there are I admit, many jerks, but there are some that want you for you, and you seem to have so much to give, so give it to the right one and take a hit for me too...Find Peace thru the Write, Ed & Rufuz
Danielle. This is powerful and meaningful. It does something to me. It's a bit scary but that's what it's all about. From reading your bio, I think you write much the way I do. I just "go with the flow" and that's when I seem to connect with the most people. Take care. Love and peace. Regis
Hopefully, in time, those memories hiding in the shadows will fade away.

Danielle---know in your heart that big Danielle will embrace little Danielle. Isn't it strange how at times the holidays evoke so much memory? My thoughts are with you.

Danielle, that’s why it’s always best to quickly get away from any form of abuse! The damage done just cannot be measured! However, there is always hope for a better tomorrow, Poetess. One must remove any obstacle in ones path towards the journey to the “promised land!” An excellent well-penned heartfelt composition. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Take good care and be well.
Magnificent!
saved!
