Bittersweet memories play in my head. Of lips claiming mine And being struck to the bed. Sweet passions ignited sharing a gentle embrace, the sting of your fingers connecting with my face.
Where did love go? Why did you change? What brought about this love/hate exchange? How can one have a lover and abuser be the same person who trapped them in this dangerous game?
Bittersweet memories are all that remain of moments we shared in both pleasure and pain. Our passion is lost the love is all spent And I'm left to wonder just where it all went.

I don't need to say here what emotions this stirs in me. He was never, EVER good enough for you. If only there were a way for him to be made to suffer as you have.

I read this poem and it just angers me (as you well know). Not only because you are my daughter, but also because I went through the same thing. He never was good enough and never will be good enough to be part of your, or the babies, life again.
From experience, I often wondered what could have been different, how could the abuse - never happenned. I thought on it a lot, until I realized that I began abusing myself looking for an answer. My past marriage, had to end, it needed to end, just to save my own survival.

both your inner and outer beauty should never be abused by the force of a lover's strength. The passion may be a raging fire but if it is fed with violence it needs to be extinguished and doused quickly before it spreads.
This is a grave write of true feelings that although I cannot claim to know myself I have heard it expressed by so many before you, but none so expressively. Well done.

Abuse is always wrong, don't ever believe that
