ok..so this is just a ramble...I made the mistake earlier of taking a nap and now I'm TIRED and can't sleep..and I can;t even blame it on coffee this time!!! lol anyway..this makes more sense if you ignore the line breaks while reading it..it's supposed to move fast and kind of chaotic :p
soft candle-light burns red eyes painfully dry barely seeing lashes flutter closed.. whispers caress my skin jolting me awake a shadow at the corner of my eye moving, shifting shape bleary-eyed I turn.. but it's gone was it there? the whispers stir again nod off to sleep then snap awake eyes glazed in a blinded stare I've lost an hour or is it three? time just isn't real or is that me? god I'm craving sleep inner release some kind of f***ing peace but the shadows shift again and now I see what's never there my thoughts taunting me but it's not real it's in my head or so I think I don't know
I think this is wonderful, Danielle. My own sleep problems due to depression have cropped up lately. So I know how hard it is to bring sleep when you really need it. One of my "cures" for insomnia is reading a stack of comic books.
