No matter how hard we try
We’ll never meet some people in the eye
With all life’s twists and turns
Peace with others we often yearn
Chemical reactions in our mind’s
Attraction or repulsion is their charm
Observe these sensations in ourselves
Are we truly under a spell?
To act beyond our kinder ways
To forget that love can save the day
To think before we say those words
No one need ever yell
Or curl the tone of loving-kindness
When sometimes ignorance does blind us
To be the saviour of our minds
To take meter every time
If only we could really try
To see the apple in every eye
To embrace dear heaven in our hearts
Dance and celebrate the love in us

The reality of mankind is that we are guided by emotions and yes these may be only chemical reactions but the difference between love at first sight and desire is often smudged by the viewers singularity.
Love has so many levels and so many gray areas but you are right, if we all try a little harder to love then the world would definately be a better place.
