Dedicated to Gorgeous...

We all lose someone so sweet
At times in our lives, this sadness we’ll meet
It’s part of the joy and all of the love
The depth of our sadness
Shows how our hearts floated above

 We all lose someone so sweet
It’s an unavoidable fact
Not something we greet

The time to say goodbye
Often makes us cry
Breaks our hearts feeling we too will die
 
Reminds us to remember that all things must pass
No one gets out alive
From this life we eventually surpass
 
Moving beyond the world’s pastures
Onto a greater flight
Promoting us, one hopes, to elevated heights

Thank you for this wonderful poem about loss of loved ones, and the assurance of the "elevated heights" to which we look forward to. I like the focus on meaning and depth, disregarding the confines of meter or rhyme, but still bringing out beauty in poetry.

This is sad but it is also like watching snowflakes fall...there is a sense of peace.
