Thank you for this poem about our friends to the west. My how they have suffered it is so sad. Yes, the USA could wipe out all the hunger and provide shelter for all. It's just too bad we have self-serving idiots in charge who truly know NOTHING at all...

Great tragedy evokes poetic thought. It is not the typhoon's destruction that is so tragic here, it is the aftermath. So many without food and water that they are resorting to anarchy to try to get it. Hopefully, the world will be generous enough to provide enough resources to bring some form of normalcy to those affected again. We haven't done that with Haiti yet.

Typhoons, tsunamis, earthquakes, fire, and disease are the bane of the poor who seem destined to suffer. There is an explanation but it is not at all obvious. Those who pray and weep and send help are on the side of the angels.
