Inspired by the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo in this photo who regularly visits our trees and front yard on foot, because he lost his ability to fly many months ago due a disease called, ‘beak and feather’. This bird is such an inspiration due to his/her ability to keep on keeping on despite all sorts of harsh conditions… We love you our boy/girl

When we find it, it is blinding
Although, what may appear unsightly
Is in truth courage glowing as pearls

A beautiful poem with many meanings. You got me focusing on the cockatoo. They live many years, less in the wild than in captivity. I really do wonder how this bird can survive without the ability to fly where there is more food and water. Perhaps you are helping out a bit by providing him/her with those things?

We do provide wild bird seed, fruit, and water... All in his/her giving-tree... so there is no need to walk along the ground.
We have put an umbrella and cover in the tree to provide protection for when it rains...
Frequent love and attention are the other ingredients of course xox :-)
