It started long before he ever cursed God
Imagination
A bill of goods easy to afford for a six year old
Through the years
he made what could have been
an easy life, a lot more complex
Ignoring fate
Many times tempting
and cheating death
in ways that witnesses could only describe
as being miraculous
But none knew the truth
nor of the ultimate confrontation
which spared his mortality

After the fact
with no credence
or real thought
many robotically referred
to his plight as a curse
But he saw them
The pompous misguided fools
He really saw them
And when he focused
and told them
what he saw
they became afraid and confused
and he was demonized
But to him the blind were the ones to be feared
So began his quest

Then he met her
It first slipped out during a bi-continental phone call
He saw her
In an uninterrupted flow
like a Kodak moment
he described
h
er location
the backdrop
the weather
the sky
Her shoes
her hair
her earrings
The color
weave
fabric
and texture,
of the clothes she was wearing
Even the size, shape,
and material
of the buttons
All precisely and without error

She became uneasy
looking for roadside cameras
sometimes drawing her blinds
But her yellow rubber sailor boots
long blue-jean country dresses
and smart slacks and blazers
couldn’t’ hide from him

She challenged him fifty-six consecutive times
with witnesses present
He was always reluctant but agreed
and never did he err
though many times he’d wished he had
if only to spite the heavens

He won’t talk much about Angels
but it seems he’s grown familiar in that arena
For he no longer curses God

Many may read this as fiction but I know it to be truth. I used to think that you had access to complex satellite equipment. Now, having lived with you, I know better. Great write!!!

Angels come dressed all sorts of ways, even nude. It is within the power of the poet to offer this angel dressed as she is. Your writing always possess more depth to challenge your reader. I am challenged and I enjoy this part of you poetry.

This is a wonderful image of the "power" and you describe the magic of it with grace and humility. Where others would flaunt and take advantage of this gift you or the character of this write obviously do not take it for granted but offer it as a sign that love reaches far and wide to make two hearts into one.
