Imagine

As a great fan of the late great John Lennon one of his hits was always close to my thoughts...Imagine, and so this is my version of that thought.

Imagine


Fields of wild flowers


Birds singing sweet


Sunshine’s warm breathe


Warm sand on feet


Snowflakes on tongue tips


Hot chocolate and mint


Naked in the moonlight


Even belly button lint


Choirs Sunday morning


Crisp sails in a breeze


The quiet of a library


Interrupted with a sneeze


Fatal sound of a gunshot


A broken heart’s cry


Blood dripping through fingers


Sad Mother’s last sigh


The anger of the righteous


The hate of the bitter


Much evil in the soul


Of detested child hitter


A spark of desire


The hot flush of wanting


Sweet lips on sweet lips


Then hot raging fire


Sweat beads on bare skin


A touch in the night


Love’s tangled sheets


Morning breath at daylight


All this and more


To remember and share


A writer’s Imagination


Is an asset to share..


 


The gift of imagination and the ability to use it without fear is one I will always treasure…

One of my favorite quotes is from writer James Gates Percival, who once wrote "thought can wing its way faster than lightning." Your poem is evidence of that. Our imagination is the portal to new worlds.

From quiet and beauty to frightening and tragic events, our imagination is a gift. I believe its roots are in reality and deep perception. You add "without fear"... this also shows creativity is not always accepted and welcome.

Without imagination we are NOTHING! You write my thoughts and those of many [I am sure] knowing that we will grow through our thoughts and most surely through have a vivid imagination. Hence - the birth of poetry, the airplane, the medical advancements, etc.
