Early morning thoughts...

Poem Artwork

Peeking In

By:  Fee

I dreamed your door was slightly open

A nightlight cast a gentle glow

When I peeked in on you last night

Because I knew you’d never know

Like a moth to a flame you lured me

You know I didn’t stand a chance

The innocence of sleep enchanted me

From that first quick passionate glance

Closer ever closer, I was drawn to you

By a desire to hold you in my arms

Body curves wrapped in still of night

How could I resist your many charms?

A t-shirt riding up revealed your belly

The subtle curve of breasts and thigh

Even in sleep your very smile enticed me

Till all I could do was breathe a sigh

I gently brushed my lips on your lips

Trembling fingers found bare skin

I snuggled up close to sweet paradise

Can such a perfect fantasy be a sin?

I felt your body stirring slightly

or could it be a dream come true

then I heard the alarm clock blaring

crap…I really wanted to…

... that bloody alarm clock! :)) It sure does know it's timing well, but I rather wonder whether it is our never-sleeping Jiminy Cricket conscience that somehow guards us from those enticing waking dreams between sleeping and awake... you know, lest we slip through the chink of realities and find ourselves in the non-confining spaces of parallel worlds. We are faced with a multiplicity of such doors every day of our lives... it's a wonder our lives continue in a straight line at all...
