Winter Dreaming
By: Fee
I feel the rage of winter’s cold
That easily can rend a soul apart
I also hear the voice of a Noreaster
Quick to roar and then depart
I see glass like ice and falling snow
And from the roofs icicles grow
Yet my heart is warm as summer
It’s because of you…you know
The beauty of a child’s snowman
Is something we all seem to know
All wrapped in children’s laughter
A by product of the chilly snow
Hot chocolate with marshmallows
Chapped stick lips share a kiss
Hot chicken soup and snuggles
Such a winter’s daydream wish
Oh I know that its only dreaming
But I have that right to dream
Love dances in this poet’s heart
A dance few have ever seen…
I have a beautiful photo of my little grandaughter that my wonderful late husband took...where she is surrounded by icicles after just having built a snowman...Reading your poem brought it to mind again. Images to treasure forever.. Love, Diana
