I dedicate this to the memory of my old friend Georg. He and I shared a lot, not only the work we did in the Sponsorship program but also on a more personal level...he was the den and its members should be... goodbye for now old friend.

I Shall Sing…Amazing Grace

Though we never got to say goodbye
I feel no need to wonder why
One day you just learned how to fly
But I’ll rejoin you by and by
and the choir sang…Amazing Grace

Your chosen words live on its true
A living legacy to build anew
You walked with me, I walked with you
That’s what I think we all should do
and I shall sing…Amazing Grace

Some say teardrops dilute pain
Or soothes the heart like gentle rain
I’ve cried my tears along life’s lane

 I know we'll walk with you again
And we shall sing…Amazing Grace

Someday my time will come its true
If I don’t get to say goodbye to you
Remember me and I'll remember too
That’s all I’ll ever ask you to do
and sing for me…Amazing Grace

Fee, This is the most beautiful writing for our dear friend. He will be forever missed by me. His humor helped me get though the pain of loosing my dad. An amazing man that touched my heart with his sweet words.

For those of you who weren't aware Tom Hyland received a message from Georg's daughter that he passed away last August. There was no explanation given as to why it took so long to notify the Den but the main thing is we now know he is with the angels and watching and reading from another place.

Well put Fee. I was aware that you and Georg were both involved in the sponsorship program and I'm curious. It's taken nearly a year for us to find out that he has in fact passed. Since that word came in, there has been such an outpouring of respectful comment. I found it odd that after he seemingly disappeared from AD, several people commented about it, but it seemed that no one had the answer. That leads me to assume that he had no one close to him who knew of his tremendous following here on the Den. Had that been the case, seemingly word would have gotten out sooner. Do you have anyway to contact his heirs and possibly share with them some of the many sentiments and poems that have been pouring in? If not, do you know of anyway to make that happen?

I believe, were I one of his relatives, I'd certainly like to know about all of this belated support and the tremendous respect he had garnerd here on The Den.
