Oh to be,
young when I still knew,
those things I used to know,
before the world taught me hurt,
before my heart had time to grow.
Oh to be,
comfortable, when I could still feel,
that the hope in my joy could heal,
the pain in everyone.
Oh how sweet to believe,
there was no happiness in the world,
my soul would ever have to steal.
Oh to be,
still lost in youth,
in love with truth,
where everyone should stay.
