Have we finally destroyed and finished
all but the part of us that wants.
is wearing each other truly done?

Dare we try to control
the heart that beats inside us
so lonely sometimes
that we can barely feel.
only longing for the joy around us
to help us heal.
Are we slowly losing
the battle to reclaim our souls,
the last remaining true part
of ourselves,
from the selfishness within us
as it learns to endure longer.
Should we just let the evil
of our pain and strife overtake us
and become stronger
leaving us with only our passion?
Dare we think
we have the right to judge,
who should receive the happiness
of our love and compassion.
and who should know the wrath
of our hate.
Each one of us individually
decides our collective fate.
