Truths

love
is a leaf
blown from the tree
ready to leave
yet fearing where it will land.

promises
are only tears
buried deep within our souls
that already know
the limits of their fulfillment.

joy
is lost and longing
behind the part
of ourselves
we withhold from the world.

sorrow
hides inside the repercussions
of the outcome
of the conditions
we place upon our love.

Truths
are only dependencies
rooted deep since childhood
we were never meant
to overcome.
