In the incorrigibility of truth

In silence
my mind reiterates
the longing in my childhood
just to feel safe and secure
and the fear of the inability
I eventually came to know as my fault.

In lonliness
my heart remembers
the reservation in my caring
those fragments of unconditionality
I was missing
that kept the love I gave
from being pure
and the insecurity
that has become my sadness.

In joy
my soul can only rejoice
within the boundaries
between which the world has placed
my creations and my shortcomings
in the space
that keeps me from being sure
and in the incorrigibilty of truth
that seeks to be my madness.

Know the feeling. I've lived and loved, short changed myself and still remain aloof at times. Your poem is a bio of me in some respects.A poet is a master when he can write so others can mirror themselves within the verse. Very well written.

This one touched me I look over life often and I was seeing this here in your words. Brought some memories back.

My childhood. Look how powerfully your verses evoke and bring forth thought and emotion in someone else. You remind me of when I was hinding under my bed on a bad Christmas Eve with a candy cane and hoping I would not be found. Love and peace to you,

Honest and introspective write, Pierre. I can resonate but also know that those "fragments of unconditionality" were probably there to protect you. We can only give so much. Sometimes it hurts just too damn much and we have to respect our boundaries...And as Lady Angelou put it, "the caged bird does sing". Yes, within those constraints are the very gifts of your freedom. Truth is malleable.
The only truth is within yourself and you have the power to use your will to overcome that fear. This is Miss Panic herself talking to you. That madness is your friend. It shows you what you need and what you need to change. There's beauty in imperfection. Before I start sounding like one of those public television new age philosophers, I'll go dear friend...

Oh to the "Truth that passes all understanding" and "The truth shall set you free" ... Perhaps crazy and clarity are two sides of the one coin... Freedom closer than is thought. Flip the coin, penetrate the hidden; and shine the Light!
Love the responsibility of:
"...to feel safe and secure
and the fear of the inability
I eventually came to know as my fault..."
Beam your wonderful mind loving Pierre!
Love, Suzie :-D

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
