They run
from the bombs of death
that fall from the skies.
Ashamed of what they've seen.
They hide
in fear and pain
and wonder why
in each new place they find
more of their friends are missing.
The children of war
huddle in dark corners and cry
their tears falling
into the open wounds
of a world
hopelessly infected with hate.
They hope against all odds
all the good in this life
will come to rescue them
that they wont be condemned
to evils fate.
The children of war
are lost and cold and hungry
some barely alive
Drowning
in the dark water
we've placed all around them.
Gasping for their breath
they only beg to survive.

I can picture the children as they huddle and it makes me cry! Great poem.
Children of war...eyes all bugged out from terror and war...and we here in peace...sleeping tight with a full stomach...God I pray for peace and harmony more and more with each passing day.
Thank you Pierre for keeping my mind focused on my prayers tonight.

Piere this one has touched me deeply it is the children that suffer the rampage of hatred war, death you have given us a powerful picture and truth in this poem Thank you,
Joselyn
These are the innocent victims of war who suffer the most. These precious lives have no value. A judgement will be on the heads of those who harm them. I don't think it is hopeless, tho, Pierre. But it seems so, as all we've known for generations is war. Painful to read...
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
