If we only knew
the joy in the magnitude
of our kinship to each other's hearts
we would hold each other close forever.

Because our lives have taught us
from our beginnings
to keep each other separate,
we are lost.

Though we've allways known
deep inside
The very purpose of our birth
was to bring each other closer
whatever the cost.

Because the world seeks to show us
that love is pain
the fear of reaching out to another
will allways remain.

As long as we believe
the evil all around us
is powerful enough
to have the right to deceive

Our lonely and hopeful tears
will fall without relent
and in the end
our lives
will be but an empty testament
to any good
weve allowed ourselves to bring
and any
song of joy
our wary souls
have finally learned to sing
will be but another shortcoming
that death drowns out.
