I live notwithstanding
the pain that into my heart life brings
to feel the color and warmth
of each new season
in the hope that the happiness
that life has given to my soul
will finally get the chance to sing.
I exist without demanding,
Oh how long it took me to understand
that true care only survives
for a fleeting moment
and then becomes hatred's sting.
I cry in truth commanding
my tears,
the sorrow of my living, to fall
down and touch the joy
in our love declining
and forever hold the good within us all
