Jody had never felt alive before
the day that Cody knocked upon her door
to offer a gift no man had ever brought
the giving of his soul to the girl
he had seemingly forever sought.
Cody in his wildest dreams had never thought
he could love another in this world of
naught
yet he mustered all the words
of longing his heart held in store
and in that moment he told her he knew he could never love another more.
they were only strangers who became
lovers
yet they pledged to each other
their hearts and souls
they held each other in an embrace
unconditional and took cover
from a world seeking
to keep them alone and unwhole.
Jody and Cody were special
two people I knew who shared everything
allways asking each other
what was essential
and what joy to each other they could
bring.
Jody and Cody went missing
when I was only young
yet I will never forget
the beauty I saw in their lives
I will allways long to hear
their loves song unsung
and touch the caring
in their eyes.

Is this a true thing that you saw, or fiction? I like it but it sounds like you are trying to hard to make it rhyme.
Poets paint their prose with the visions they capture from their own expereinces and from seeing others. You've captured the deep feelings of a pair of lovers, their emotions and the small nuances of their secure love within one another. Now I will wonder what happened to this perfect love and where they ended up in this life. Only a poet with astounding passion can reanimate that passion on paper to shate with others.
