I know some of you may not believe it
but I wrote this on 9/10/01. the eve of
the disaster of 9/11
for what its worth......

Where is the freedom
where is the truth
in the lives we live
have we forgotten the joys of our youth

Or has the world taken them from us
one by one until we had no more to give
until lifes evil deed was done
and the sorrow had finally found us.

Where is the happiness
where are the sounds
of the love all around us
that was beat to the ground.

Who pulled the trigger
on the weapon of hate
that wounded us and forced us
to succumb to greed and fate

Where is the compassion and caring
where is the touch
that holds the gentleness
we need so much?

Where is the truth?
