Candles burning bright

Even with the light of all the love we show within their eyes. They're but candles burning bright against the wind of all our lies. Even as the fight of all that grows rages deep within their cries. They are hope's unceasing sight they are the ones who know It is only good that tries. Our children are the righters of the wrongs within our lives. They are the recreation of the mightier parts of our souls that have grown tired. They are the burial of the past we were denied. They are also the brighter hopes of our hearts that will survive. This dedication to our children is one of thanks and gratitude and sometimes overlooked by many parents. Today the world is a mess because of all of us. Our responsibility is to our grandchildren now. I think the Haida Indians said it best, "We don't inherit this world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our granchildren."
