I can cry no more
in the pity of my own humiliation
under the burden
of my selfless cooperation
that allways leaves me alone.

I'll never pretend to be happy again
without feeling true appreciation
with only
the promise of elation
I won't let my real joy
be known.

I can live no longer
in the pain of another's intoleration
under the guise
of their regulation
I must free myself from this void
I've learned to call my home.

Wow! The depth of sadness for me reading this is way beyond my ability for words. You write of a situation very painful but one where true realization that the door to happiness is open, Now all you need do is walk on through. Pierre, the heart's resilliency is amazing once one makes wp their mind to progress and sees the lighted path. It's there once you make a move.

Love and hugs!
Susan
