I read an angel
writing poems
and I listened
as she set me free
To roam the spaces of my shortcomings
to decide which ones were because of me

I sensed my soulmate
spilling her dreams
and I paused awhile
to catch them
coming across the universe between us
to fill the empty cup that is me

I felt her heart
beat in unison with mine
and I surrendered in that second
to the fulfillment of our reunion
to the longing for the day
our souls will be together and free.

What a beautiful poem. And that second stanza? Visually STUNNING. --Charlie

It's remarkable the way crossroads intersect and, no matter the distance, they weve a shorter path to the heart. My father always said, "The shortest pace between two people is their smile." I like to think that hearts have a beat destined for their mate and that we keep looking for that beat that makes the music .

Love,
Susan
